Facing Impossible Odds: Stories of Strength, Bravery, and Survival

Join Salem Playback Theatre on April 18th for a night of stories celebrating strength, bravery, and survival in the face of impossible odds. Partnering with the Center for Hope and Safety this month, the troupe will bring awareness to the important work being done on behalf of victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and human trafficking. Their programs and services inform survivors of their options and support them in their choices. A cornerstone of their philosophy is respect for the rights of all survivors, including the freedom to decide whether to report to the police the crimes committed against them. The Center works with survivors of any race, color, creed, religious belief, sexual orientation, or gender identity. Come prepared to tell your own story, or be present to applaud the challenges and triumphs of others.

Our January performance features guest stories from member of the National Federation of the Blind who believe that “Blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want; blindness is not what holds you back.”
